It was a privilege for our Co-Founder Nick Terrell to share insights into the current landscape of European CCUS deployment and the pivotal role that UK industry is playing in accelerating progress toward Net Zero.
Nick also highlighted the growing momentum behind our UK CCS projects Poseidon and Orion, which are being developed by Carbon Catalyst Limited in partnership with Perenco CCS (Carbon Storage), Harbour Energy, Summit Energy Evolution Limited, and Sumitomo Corporation.
A Major Highlight: as part of the Perenco operated Poseidon JV, we’ve just completed the world’s first offshore dense-phase CO₂ injection test into an ultra-depleted gas reservoir. This global first delivered highly encouraging results.
Poseidon is designed as a cornerstone CO₂ transport and storage (T&S) project for emitters across the UK and Europe, with:
• FID targeted in 2027
• Initial injection (~1.5 Mtpa) by 2029
• Scale-up potential to 40 Mtpa and 1 Gt of total CO₂ storage capacity
Huge thanks to the Scottish Energy Forum for the platform and to Wood Mackenzie for hosting us on the 26th floor of 22 Bishopsgate — a fantastic venue with an incredible view.
Shoutout to Catherine Horseman-Wilson, Jade Metcalfe, and all who made the evening such a success.
