This week, more than 800 leaders from government, industry, finance and technology gathered in London for two days showcasing the momentum, challenges and opportunities shaping the future of CCUS on the road to net zero.
It was a privilege to take to the stage and share Carbon Catalyst Limited and Perenco CCS (Carbon Storage)‘s latest progress on our UK Poseidon CCS project:
✅ Highly promising results from our offshore CO₂ injection test earlier this year
✅ Progressing towards FEED on our Phase 1 commercial-scale development
✅ Deepening engagements with our anchor emitter customer base
As one of Europe’s largest licensed offshore CO₂ storage sites (~1 Gt), Poseidon’s strategic location adjacent to major UK and EU industrial clusters — combined with our cost-effective infrastructure repurposing approach — positions us to deliver large-scale and commercially viable decarbonisation across the region, with commencement of operations planned for 2029.
Summit Highlights:
- UK Minister Sarah Jones, reinforced the unique opportunity for CCUS to clean up British industry and build CO₂ pathways across Europe
- Global policy alignment – UK, Norway, Alberta & Brazil calling for deeper collaboration
- Industry leaders shared scaling and innovation strategies
- Scaling ambition – CCUS must grow from 49 Mtpa today to 100× by 2050
- Finance & markets – unlocking capital and viable business models
- Innovation – Tech Roadshow showcased next-gen capture, transport & storage
Takeaway: CCUS is essential. With strong policy, investor appetite and cross-border partnerships, the sector is ready to scale.
