That’s a wrap on BEOS 2025!

The energy was high, the conversations were flowing, and Nick wrapped up a dynamic panel session on the future of CCS, alongside sector experts from Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, Repsol, Core Laboratories and the Carbon Capture and Storage Association.

🔥 Key highlights from our UK focused discussion were:🔥
– Growing technical and commercial confidence
Advances in technical knowledge, such as Carbon Catalyst’s Poseidon CO2 injection test, are boosting CCS feasibility, with insurers and investors increasingly recognising the sectors potential. By integrating empirical data with financial mechanisms, the industry can build a strong foundation for scalable and secure CCS projects.

– A market poised for growth beyond Track 1 clusters
With financial incentives, clear regulations and cross-sector collaboration, the UK is well positioned for large-scale CCS deployment. Now is the time to capitalise on momentum, establish fit for purpose business models and unlock long-term success.

– Unlocking cross-border CCS
Cross-border CCS is becoming more feasible as international collaboration progresses. While regulatory challenges exist, new agreements between the UK and EU can unlock seamless CO₂ transport and drive down costs for EU emitters and UK storage.
